All of the Hands-On tutors are respected experts in their fields and are enthusiastic and capable teachers. Teaching is done in the tutors' own professional studios — going on a Hands-On course gives you a wonderful insite into their creative and unconventional lives.

Alison Ospina

Alison Ospina, Green Wood Chairs

Alison is a professional chair maker and woodwork teacher. She formed Green Wood Chairs over a decade ago, and has been designing and creating chairs of all shapes and sizes, for a variety of customers and homes, ever since. Her authoritative book 'Green Wood Chairs, Chairs and Chairmakers of Ireland' is available from her website.

Adrian Wistreich

Adrian Wistreich, Kinsale Pottery & Art School

After more than 20 years of corporate life in London, Adrian left to pursue his ambition of becoming an artist and teacher and so moved to Kinsale with his family and set-up the Kinsale Pottery and Art School.

Ben Russell

Ben Russell - Woodcarving and Photography

Ben is recognised as one of Ireland's most capable woodcarvers. During a 32 year professional career, he has undertaken a spectacular variety of public and private woodworking commissions.

As an editorial photographer, Ben has had over 3,000 images published. His photography workshops and one-to-one tuition sessions are supported by OLYMPUS.

Jim Turner

Jim Turner, Rossmore Pottery

Jim Turner is one of Ireland's leading ceramic artists. His work has been widely exhibited both in Ireland and abroad and is in many private and public collections, including the Crafts Council of Ireland. Jim lectures part-time in ceramics and sculpture. He has also led workshops and seminars and offers consultancy services. Jim studied at the Camberwell School of Art and gained a Degree in Ceramic Sculpture in 1974. He established Rossmore Country Pottery with Etain Hickey in 1982.

Pauline Agnew

Pauline Agnew, Seedbed Studio

Pauline Agnew is a graduate of the National College of Art and Design (1994) Dublin, and the Dublin Institute of Technology (1998), where she obtained a Degree in Fine Art, and a Masters in Multimedia, respectively. A practicing mixed-media artist and art teacher, she has exhibited her work in Ireland and Europe.


Rosemary Taylor

Rosemary Taylor

Rosemary Taylor is a graduate of the Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork City, where she studied Fine Art Printmaking and Life Drawing. She has been painting for more than thirty years and teaching since 1985 when whe was still involved in a craft business with her hiusband, Alan.
