Green Wood Chairs - Alison Ospina Print

Alison, a professional chair maker and woodwork teacher, formed Green Wood Chairs over 9 years ago. Since then she has been designing and creating chairs of all shapes and sizes, for a variety of customers and homes.

'I believe there is at least one chair in everyone' says Alison, 'and the joy of my job is seeing the creative process through from start to finish. Each chair turns out to be as individual as the student that makes it'.

Alison uses freshly-cut Hazel, coppiced locally. Coppicing ensures a sustainable supply of Hazel, since the trees are cut back and regrow every 5-7 years.

They take place at The Wooden House, Rossnagoose, approximately two miles from Skibbereen, overlooking the Ilen River. Skibbereen is a thriving market town with several fine B&B's and hotels to suit all budgets. There are also many restaurants and cafes in the area and, of course, a lot of pubs! You will find it a very relaxing and enjoyable place to stay, where you can enjoy the best golf courses, in-shore and off-shore angling, and leisurely walks along the beach.
